The controlled parking zone is being reviewed this financial year. During this review they will look at down grading some double yellow lines to single, and the possibilities of extending the zone further down

- Birch trees have been planted along the road near the entrance to Sunny Gardens Road from Church Street, replacing mature trees cut down last year because of damage to nearby houses.

I have had a comment that there is confusion over the role of our NW scheme. Neighbourhood Watch schemes simply act as another eye to alert the authorities of suspicious activities, and to help introduce neighbours to each other. The Residents Association side simply acts as a conduit between the council and residents. Under no circumstances should anyone representing the schemes enter uninvited onto neighbours land, unless with genuine concern for neighbour’s safety, also we do not endorse any form of rubbish or recycling bin inspections!
- As coordinator we can not make changes to cleaning cycles, but can complain on our behalf when cleaning is not completed efficiently. The normal planned skip service takes place on May 27th. (Last month there were difficulties due to road closures during the week of our street cleaning.)
- There was an incident with an upset resident and university student who parked in her drive.
- Please, I ask if anyone has any concerns that they bring them to my attention rather than let them build up. If we do not know then we can not help or change things.

St Mary's School: Daniel had a meeting with the assistant head. Main areas of interest to us all include:
- Ages and sites are now split, except for lessons requiring specialised equipment
- Staff now patrol after school until about 15:30 along
- Staff are stationed on the gates of the school at the start and end of the day
- If students are found to be loitering around the area, smoking or generally not in school, with a basic description the school can track back and trace them, as long as residents can give a description and a time of the event. Residents are encouraged to call the school immediately for a swifter response; where possible the school will attend.
- School can exercise disciplinary measures out of school grounds but in school time or travel hours, where absolutely necessary
- 6th form groups might be interested in community work in support of the Neighbourhood Watch scheme
- Year 7 students council will be invited to discuss getting involved in the NW scheme
- Litter and over growth clear up projects
- Noise issues at weekends due to school lettings mentioned, no reports to the association as of yet
New Building: Complaints have been raised concerning a development on Downage and the equipment being used to build it (backing on to Sunny Gardens Road). Forward us any concern.November 2007
- New Pavements: Sunny Gardens was re-laid successfully recently.
- Parking: Following the Controlled Parking Zone extension, vehicles now cause congestion in the area outside the zone. The council are aware of this and are investigating either an extension of the zone or alternative ideas.
- Litter: The green area at the beginning of Sunny Gardens Road where the trees are has been requested for litter clearing. The bins are on a regular collection, but do fill up very fast. Note: this stretch of land is in private ownership; the council has to notify the owner before clearing it up.
